Altrusa is an international volunteer service organization of business and professional leaders, classified by occupation, dedicated to improving their communities by personal service.

As Altrusans, members channel their talents to the organizations' community service focus and are able to achieve as a group what individuals cannot do alone.

Founded in April 1917, Altrusa took an early leadership position by developing innovative programs in vocational  guidance and public education.  The organization continues to adapt its programs and projects to meet current community needs.

The Orlando-Winter Park club is the result of a merger of two local clubs and serves the entire Metro Orlando area.  Membership is by invitation; and, although most members are women, since 1987 Altrusa membership is open to men.
